Game Objective
|
In Baccarat you make a wager that either the
Player's hand will win, the Banker's hand will win, or that the game
will result in a tie.
The object of baccarat is to predict which hand will get a point value
closest to 9, keeping in mind that all ten-value cards count as zero and
aces count as one. To participate in the game, you place your wager on
the Banker's hand, on the Player's hand, or on a tie. Then the Player
and the Banker are each dealt a two-card hand. Following standard
baccarat rules (shown below), a third card is dealt to the Player and/or
the Banker.
The players place a wager on either the Bank's hand or the Player's
hand. The winning hand is the one with the point total closest to nine
after all the cards are dealt. You can also choose to place your bet on
a tie, when both hands have equal point values. If the game does result
in a tie, a wager for the Banker or the Player is returned. All winning
wagers for the Banker and the Player pay even money. However, if you win
by betting on the Banker, the bank receives 5% commission. If you
correctly wager that the two hands will tie, your payoff is 8 to 1. |
Rules, summarizing when a third
card is to be drawn
|
- If either the Player or the Banker have a total of 8 or 9 on the
first two cards no further cards are drawn.
- If the Players total is less than or equal to 5 the Player's hand
draws a third card.
- If the Player does not draw a third card, then the Banker's hand
stands on 6 or more and takes a third card on a total of 5 or less. If
the Player does take a third card then the rules below will determine
if the bank takes a third card.
- If the Bank's total is 2 or less then Bank draws a card,
regardless of what the Player's third card is.
- If the Bank's total is 3 then the Bank draws a third card unless
the Player's third card was an 8.
- If the Bank's total is 4 then the Bank draws a third card unless
the Player's third card was a 0,1,8,or 9.
- If the Bank's total is 5 then the Bank draws a third card if the
Player's third card was 4,5,6,or 7.
- If the Bank's total is 6 then the Bank draws a third card if the
Player's third card was a 6 or 7.
- If the Bank's total is 7 then the Bank stands.
